The Academy format offers essential dedicated skills training for new or developing players, and it is the preferred training format of US Youth Soccer. Whereas recreational soccer can focus on team play and tactics, Academy style training targets the essential, individual soccer skills of each player (Dribbling, Passing, Shooting, and Defending). A good introduction to the sport for beginners and a place for experienced players to focus on improving coordination & footskills.
